For National Property Managers Day 2024, we’re celebrating the frontline of our Property Management Department.

The backbone of our rental operations, Leasing Partners experience variety like no other role. While they are licensed Property Managers in their own right, their focus is on supporting the greater ecosystem of the department, working as customer service experts and workflow champions.

They specialise in crafting a world-class open inspection, presenting a property in the best possible light for prospective tenants, on-hand to explain listing specifics, the application process, and field general questions. They create post-inspection reports for their Property Managers and landlords, presenting feedback, suggestions and observations, before assisting with processing applications.

Once a tenancy is secured, they thoroughly document the property via an in-going condition report, using theirmeticulous and match-fit attention to detail to craft commentary so all parties can start the tenancy on the same page. Across a tenancy, they also undertake routine inspections, meeting with tenants and walking through properties to establish reasonable condition, breaches, maintenance required, or proactive suggestions, putting all into a report.

Working across teams of multiple property managers, they are highly organised professionals who can pre-empt workflows and provide support accordingly. Reading the market and making informed decisions about where their time is best spent for maximum impact, their outside eye and expertise are highly valued.

Much like Property Managers, Leasing Partners have a rare role in which they can truly be themselves. The frontline representatives of the Harris Brand, their authenticity and personalities are key to engagement with a broad range of clients daily.

A successful Leasing Partner thrives working across both the office and on the road, presenting a chance to mix with dozens of new names and faces daily.  For design lovers, it’s an incredible chance to see a high volume of properties across all ends of the market, as well as to learn and discover the geogrpahic intricacies across Adelaide. And it’s also a role for true team players, providing a chance to provide valued, expert support to our elite property managers. Communications-oriented, their feedback, recommendations, and reporting are vital to successful property campaigns and tenancies.

While endlessly rewarding on its own, a Leasing Partner role also provides the ideal entry point into real estate. It’s an exceptional chance to finely hone knowledge on the tools, creating a strong operational foundation for any future opportunities. It’s also a brilliant chance to build a baseline for suburb and area knowledge, working with a variety of different agents across diverse service areas. We also welcome them via our cadet program, empowering them to study and gain their license at the same time as gaining experience in the field.

At Harris, we empower our team to reach their full potential with digital training on demand through our world-class Harris University system, as well as monthly in-person meetings and industry-leading software. Based across all our locations, they are backed by a pod-based structure for further synergy.

Crucial to our Property Management team, we salute them and all support professionals working in the industry today.
