Local Lowdown: City of Salisbury

To celebrate our new North office, located at 34 Ann Street Salisbury, we’re shining a light on our fresh locale.

30 minutes north of the Adelaide CBD, the City of Salisbury spans 158 square kilometres, extending from the shores of Gulf St Vincent to the foothills of the Mt Lofty Ranges. Salisbury offers a wealth of leisure space and a plethora of public parks, wetlands, and recreation centres, as well as an aquatic centre and numerous libraries.

Due to the relative affordability of the City of Salisbury, the appeal is widespread, ranging from first-home buyers, young couples and families, through to investors and developers. This has held strong across 2023, with open inspections regularly drawing more than 40 groups. As the City of Salisbury generally sits below Adelaide’s median price, making it affordable for a diverse range of buyer groups, persistent strong demand for homes keeps prices steady.

Over the past year, the City of Salisbury undertook the $8 million Church and John Streets Revitalisation Project, funded by the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, in alignment with the City of Salisbury’s City Plan 2035. This effort aimed to refresh the City Centre, enhance its identity, and create a more inviting atmosphere. Local traders were supportive and kept informed of intermittent street closures during essential upgrades, which included improved pedestrian areas, new greenery, the replacement of old bollards, and modern lighting. The City Centre also received contemporary artworks, revitalizing the area.

The new $29.9 million Salisbury Aquatic Centre has begun construction, with expected completion in mid-2024. Replacing the previous pool at Happy Home Reserve in Salisbury, the highly anticipated facility will feature a 10-meter-tall slide tower, Olympic-sized outdoor pool, and heated indoor pools up to 25 meters in size. Plans also include a café, gym, and waterplay area for children.
